Who We Are

We have been serving in the Fort Thomas and Northern Kentucky area for over 100 years.  Throughout that time we  have grown with the community and served in countless ways. We believe that we are called to honor our history and the faithfulness of those that have gone before us. What does that look like exactly? We believe that we do it best by learning to consistently seek out what new and innovative ways the Spirit might be leading in our current situation. In other words, we are thankful for all that God has done through our body, but we also want to keep looking at figuring out what’s next.

As part of a historic baptist tradition, we believe strongly in the priesthood of believers as mentioned in 1 Peter 2:5. With that said, we offer this statement of beliefs as a glimpse of some core beliefs that the majority of our members adhere to and help you understand the basis of our teaching. With that said, we welcome people of all backgrounds and perspectives and even encourage healthy dialogue, as long as it is done with love.

What We Believe

God is…There is one God. God is infinite, eternal, and almighty. God is perfect in holiness, truth, and love. God exists in three forms: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

God the Father

God the Father is the Creator of all that exists. God created freely and supernaturally out of nothing. All things were created for God's glory and God's honor.

Jesus the Son

Jesus Christ is God made flesh. He is fully God and fully man. He was always with God and is God. He is the agent of creation. It is only through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ that man can be saved. Jesus Christ reconciles sinful man to God.

The Holy Spirit

When Jesus returned to Heaven to prepare a place for us, He sent the Counselor. This Counselor is the Holy Spirit. The Spirit is the giver of life. The Spirit convicts of sin and persuades to repentance. It is by the leading of the Holy Spirit that we have trust, faith, understanding, and opportunity to bring glory to God.

The Scriptures

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is through the Scriptures and the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we are led towards salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We are called to study the Scriptures and apply them to our lives. They are totally sufficient as an authoritative guide to the Christian life.

The Church

The church is not a religious institution or denomination. The church is made up of all those who offer themselves as genuine followers of Jesus Christ. The church exists to worship and glorify God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It also exists to faithfully serve God and to do God's will on earth. All members of the church should also be a vital and committed part of a local body. Each individual should be an integral part of the church body, nurtured and equipped for the work and ministry of bringing glory to God by proclaiming salvation and reconciliation to all through faith in Jesus Christ.
